About Me

I work on representation learning for healthcare and biological data, building models that learn structured, reusable embeddings from complex clinical and biological signals rather than treating each task in isolation. I completed my dual degree (B.Tech in Computer Science and M.S. in Computational Natural Sciences by Research) at IIIT Hyderabad, where I was recognized as a Research List Award Recipient for 2024-25 and awarded the IHub-Data Research-Translation Fellowship for 2025-26. Under Prof. Nita Parekh's guidance at CCNSB, my thesis explored representation learning across genomics and medical imaging — from structural variant detection in Long-Read DNA sequencing to MammoInsight, a unified multi-task foundation-model framework for mammography.

I am currently a Research Assistant at Epicenter, Medical University of Innsbruck (MUI), working with Dr. Patrick Rockenschaub on Generative ICU Foundation Models. My focus is on learning efficient, task- conditioned representations from autoregressive EHR models, replacing full patient-trajectory generation with architectures like query-conditioned bidirectional encoding and latent memory-block reasoning for time-to-event prediction and clinical classification. This builds directly on my earlier work as a Research Assistant at LISP, EPFL, where under Prof. Johan Auwerx I adapted hierarchical masked autoencoder frameworks to learn latent representations of mouse movement trajectories, mapping them to genetic strains to decode aging patterns from behavioral time series data.

My research philosophy centers on bridging the gap between computational innovation and biological understanding. I believe that the most profound scientific breakthroughs emerge at the intersection of rigorous computational methods and deep biological insight. By leveraging the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning, I aim to uncover patterns and relationships in complex biological systems that would otherwise remain hidden, contributing to advances that can improve human health and our understanding of life itself.

Investigating test-time efficiency for clinical tasks in autoregressive EHR foundation models, learning task-conditioned representations via query-conditioned bidirectional encoding and latent memory-block reasoning, with censoring-aware survival losses for time-to-event prediction.

Research at EPFL (LISP)

Developed hierarchical masked autoencoder frameworks for modeling aging trajectories from continuous mouse behavioral data. Working with the a diverse pool of mouse movement data to link natural movement patterns with genetic variation and molecular aging signatures.

Completed my Master's Thesis on advancing structural variant detection in human genomes using Long-Read DNA sequencing technologies and developing multi-modal deep learning approaches for mammographic analysis and cancer subtype classification using hypergraph contrastive learning.

Tokenization Effects in Psycholinguistic Surprisal Analysis

Extended research on surprisal theory by comparing character-level n-gram models, token-level GPT-2 surprisal, and character-level surprisal via beam-based marginalization across four eye-tracking corpora. Found that marginalized character-level surprisal consistently outperformed token-based approaches.
